Stopping a seizure step by step, the causes you can treat straight away, and nursing the recumbent patient.

Module 4 of 12 in Emergency Essentials. Four live sessions on Thursdays at 9 pm IST, 1½ hours each, recorded. Session 4 is rounds with the faculty panel.

Skills: Neuro exam, MGCS, anticonvulsants without IV access

  • Recognise status epilepticus and find causes you can treat straight away
  • Follow a stepwise protocol to stop a seizure
  • Move through the protocol and track mentation over time
  • Present a neurological case and explain each treatment step

Course Content

Sessions 1–3
Approach, stabilise and treat, and a virtual case.

  • Session 1: Seizure or not? The causes you can fix straight away
  • Session 2: Stopping the seizure, step by step
  • Session 3: Virtual case: status epilepticus and head trauma

Quiz and assignment
Complete both before session 4 on Thursday 11 March 2027.

Session 4: Rounds
Rounds with the faculty panel: your cases and questions.
