Module 3 of 12 in Emergency Essentials. Four live sessions on Thursdays at 9 pm IST, 1½ hours each, recorded. Session 4 is rounds with the faculty panel.

What Will You Learn?

  • Recognise respiratory distress, localise it by breathing pattern and give oxygen safely
  • Choose the first treatment for respiratory distress and know when to tap the chest
  • Choose diagnostics and treatment without making the patient worse
  • Present a respiratory case and explain the first steps taken

Course Content

Sessions 1–3
Approach, stabilise and treat, and a virtual case.

  • Session 1: Reading the breathing pattern: where is the problem?
  • Session 2: Oxygen, sedation, chest taps and heart failure
  • Session 3: Virtual case: the cat that can’t breathe

Quiz and assignment
Complete both before session 4 on Thursday 11 February 2027.

Session 4: Rounds
Rounds with the faculty panel: your cases and questions.
