About Course

Triage, recognising shock, giving a fluid bolus, placing an IV catheter, and checking glucose in every collapsed patient.

Module 1 of 12 in Emergency Essentials. Four live sessions on Thursdays at 9 pm IST, 1½ hours each, recorded. Session 4 is rounds with the faculty panel.

What Will You Learn?

  • Perform a primary survey and recognise a patient in shock
  • Calculate and give a shock bolus and tell whether it has worked
  • Decide the next step after each reassessment
  • Present a case and say what you would do differently

Course Content

Sessions 1–3
Approach, stabilise and treat, and a virtual case.

  • Session 1: Triage and the primary survey: recognising shock fast
  • Session 2: Shock fluids, IV access and glucose emergencies
  • Session 3: Virtual case: the collapsed dog

Quiz and assignment
Complete both before session 4 on Thursday 3 December 2026.

Rounds with the faculty panel: your cases and questions.
