Module 7 of 12 in Emergency Essentials. Four live sessions on Thursdays at 9 pm IST, 1½ hours each, recorded. Session 4 is rounds with the faculty panel.

  • Recognise the abdomen that needs surgery
  • Stabilise a blocked cat and a GDV before surgery or referral
  • Put stabilisation steps in the right order
  • Present an acute abdomen case and explain the decision to operate, refer or treat medically

Course Content

Sessions 1–3
Approach, stabilise and treat, and a virtual case.

  • Session 1: The abdomen that needs surgery: how to tell
  • Session 2: The blocked cat and the GDV
  • Session 3: Virtual case: high potassium and a twisted stomach

Quiz and assignment
Complete both before session 4 on Thursday 3 June 2027.

Session 4: Rounds
Rounds with the faculty panel: your cases and questions.
