Primary survey in trauma, pain relief, wound care, and talking to owners.

Module 5 of 12 in Emergency Essentials. Four live sessions on Thursdays at 9 pm IST, 1½ hours each, recorded. Session 4 is rounds with the faculty panel.

What Will You Learn?

  • Run a primary survey on a trauma patient and find what needs treating first
  • Stabilise and clean a trauma patient ready for surgery or referral
  • Put several injuries in the right order of treatment
  • Explain prognosis and cost clearly to an owner

Course Content

Sessions 1–3
Approach, stabilise and treat, and a virtual case.

  • Session 1: Primary survey and AFAST in the trauma patient
  • Session 2: Bleeding, pain relief and wound care
  • Session 3: Virtual case: the road traffic accident

Quiz and assignment
Complete both before session 4 on Thursday 8 April 2027.

Session 4: Rounds
Rounds with the faculty panel: your cases and questions.
